4/27/2025 1:49 PM CST Dear Reader, I have a review of a great story for you today. Blinded by the Lies by Amanda Ruzsa, which was a tasty little surprise. But first. I must do shameless self-promotion. I am excited about this! I can officially say that Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs is a series, because I am announcing today… Book #2 of The Blood Slugs series, “Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs— Grandma Got Run Over by a Psycho ” is releasing 5/4, one week from the date on this blog. With this in mind, Dear Reader, you should know some things. 1.        You can pre-order Grandma Got Run Over by a Psycho now at the ‘zon. 4/20/2025 5:49 PM CST Dear Reader, In honor of a holiday that is, in many ways, about rebirth and transformation, I thought it would finally be appropriate to write a review of Duncan Ralston’s Woom . No promises of blogs to come this week. No big news. That is next week. For now, let’s keep it simple and enjoy this review. It has been a long day, and I want to go enjoy the holiday with some Easter grass.   The Lonely Motel Gives Birth to Tales of Disgust and Anguish Review: Woom – Duncan Ralston My Verdict: Great characters. Pushes you toward an inevitable ending. Not as intense as I anticipated, but more than earned its reputation.   Sometimes, it is love at first sight. I know that I am late to the party on this one. But I must do my obligatory Woom review. There are some books that you know you are going to like even before you have read a word. Maybe it’s the cover. Maybe it is because you heard someone speak enthusiastically about the book, and they g...

In Absolution, the Second Coming Delivers an Unexpected Rapture

4/13/2025 1:01 PM CST Dear Reader, It is another indie horror review Sunday for this week’s blog. Before we get to that, though, I would like to address the upcoming month of May. May 4th is the official release date for “Killer Mike and the Blood Slugs – Grandma Got Run Over by a Psycho, ” and with that being said, I am merely inches away from having the files ready to be on the lookout for ARC readers. When all is said and done, Grandma will be approximately 10,000 words, and you could probably read it in a sitting if you were so inclined. Also, most likely coming in May, my horror short “The Bloodwitch” will be featured as an audio play on Wilhelm’s Frightening Tales , a horror podcast with a great host. This brings me to my point. “Killer Mike and the BLOOD Slugs?” “The BLOOD witch?” This wasn’t intentional. I promise. It also wasn’t intentional that the Blood Slugs and the Bloodwitch happen to share certain proclivities. They were written so far apart, I swear. I...
